Miriam Paramore

Founder & CEO of RxUtility, Speaker

Miriam Paramore has been influencing the direction of the healthcare technology industry for more than 35 years. Her contributions have had significant impact on the major healthcare business sectors – providers, payers, pharmacy, life sciences and, most importantly, patients. It has been Miriam’s life’s work to improve the U.S. healthcare system through the power of information. She is an expert in healthcare business processes and IT, as well as healthcare data and the rules that govern it. Miriam has deep experience in the business systems (such as revenue cycle) and the clinical systems (EHR, digital health, clinical workflows) of healthcare. She has worked with big data, machine learning, and neutral networks for over 10 years and used AI to build products in her last two companies. In her startup company, RxUtility, Miriam personally built a new DaaS solution using generative AI to write code, QA data, create business processes, and write contracts. She actively consults with health tech and health services companies on how to incorporate AI for competitive advantage.

Miriam is an operating advisor at Goldman Sachs growth equity as well as with other PE and VC sponsors including KKR and Sixth Street. Working across multiple funds and portfolio companies, she coaches CEOs and helps build out boards. Miriam focuses on helping the management team create strategy and GTM plans that align with stakeholder and capital market expectatios. She helps build out boards and create effective communication practices that keep all parties aligned and motivated. Miriam recently rolled off the Board of Directors of Medsphere where her roles included CEO coaching, CEO transition, and strategic growth planning. Previous board roles include HIMSS North America, CareSource Managed Care, and the Kentucky Pediatric Association.

Miriam is the immediate past President and Chief Strategy Officer of OptimizeRx (NASDAQ:OPRX), a digital health company. She architected and led the organization’s organic and inorganic growth strategy and business development, including successful up listing on the NASDAQ. She built the technology, data, product, marketing, public relations, investor relations, operations, and account management teams from scratch.

Previously, she ran enterprise-wide strategy and product development as executive vice president for Emdeon, now known as Change Healthcare. Under her leadership, the company doubled its revenue within five years to $1.2 billion, resulting in the healthcare IT industry’s highest performing IPO to-date.

On the policy front, Miriam is an author of the Administrative Simplification Compliance portion of the Affordable Care Act that governs electronic remittance. To drive this effort, she created the CAQH Index, the analytics platform that led to the passage of the electronic healthcare payments provision of the Act.

Miriam is an active investor in early-stage health tech companies and a limited partner in a venture fund. She is a champion for women in leadership and has started DEI efforts at three (3) different companies.

If your platform is about promoting better healthcare, better opportunities for women in leadership, or better business building, Miriam's focus on the issues, appreciation of the nuance of your audience, and exceptional speaking skills are likely a good fit. Schedule a short call to chat here.
